This Week in NativeScript—August 16th

It’s time for another This Week in NativeScript, your weekly collection of NativeScript links, plugins, and more. I know you’re all excited to read some hot new NativeScript articles, but there’s an important development in the NativeScript world that we need to discuss first.

That’s right, there are now competing NativeScript cat and NativeScript dog Twitter accounts. If that’s not a sign of the success of NativeScript, I’m not sure what is.

And with that exciting development out of the way, on to the links!

Plugins

  • App Protection
Nathanael Anderson launched a new site for his NativeScript encryption service for iOS and Android 🔒. Check it out!
  • In-App Purchase
Thanks to Peter Staev’s you can now easily request money from users in your NativeScript apps 💰. Whether they actually give you money, of course, is up to you 😀
  • BackgroundFetch
A really nice looking iOS background fetch implementation by Chris Scott.
  • Social Share
The NativeScript social share plugin now provides much nicer TypeScript syntax thanks to Brad Martin.

Stack Overflow Update

Brad Martin is killing it on Stack Overflow lately, and is rapidly catching Nathanael on the all-time leader list. Also shout out to another Telerik Developer Expert, Osei Fortune, who is second on the “Last 30 Days” list, and who has also been extraordinarily helpful on the NativeScript Community Slack Channel.

And that’s it. As always, if we missed your link or plugin, make sure to let us know in the comments so we can get you on the list. Happy NativeScript-ing!
